Sports Illustrated Models Add NSFW Fun to NFS: The Run

Pete Walsh September 27, 2011

In Need for Speed: The Run, Sports Illustrated Swimsuit models Irina Shayk and Chrissy Teigen play best friends and your rivals in the cross-country, $25 million race from San Francisco to New York that begins November 15.

The star character Jack, once merely a marked man racing for the big bounty to clear his debt, is now apparently a marked man in heat… or something. I suppose it will only be time before we see some centerfold spreads with Need for Speed’s featured cars and these models.

Is it just me or does the inclusion of the real-life models and the game’s rendered models in the same video show the graphics’ age? Maybe developers are spending a lot more polygons to render cars and environment as opposed to rendering humans, which may in the end be a better allocation of technology in this kind of game.

To get caught up with some Need for Speed the Run coverage, I’ve included the game’s “Jack is Marked Man” trailer and some actual gameplay footage from the game’s latest public build to judge where the game is headed.

If you want to skip the developer talk, the gameplay starts around 1:15 mark:
