Transformers Director Making NFS: The Run Commercial

Michael Bay – director of movie blockbusters such as The Rock, Armageddon, Pearl Harbor, Bad Boys, and Transformers – is helming the TV commercial for EA’s upcoming Need for Speed: The Run.

RaceSimCentral has mentioned some of the star power behind NFS: The Run before: Mad Men’s Christina Hendricks and Sean Faris of Ghost Machine and Never Back Down have provided their likenesses and voices to the game. In the above video, Michael Bay and the others talk up The Run with regards to how well the game resembles a movie.

Hopefully the cinematic intensity will match the gameplay intensity. I’m also a sucker for trailers with at least some parts of gameplay shown, but I have a feeling this TV commercial will have a heavy amount of pre-rendered “polished” graphics.

Facebook is presently hosting a trailer that, when liked or shared enough, will unlock the full TV commercial early. As of this writing, the goal is about 2/3 complete.

With Hollywood stars in the game, as well, I feel like this begs the question: how much longer until movie professionals are completely integrated with these multi-million dollar gaming projects?
