Kunos Simulazioni today announced the 500 Abarth SS and the Italian racing circuit Magione as official licensed content for their new PC sim racing game “Assetto Corsa”, and have also released a large number of screenshots demonstrating the attention to detail Kunos is renowned for.
With an impressive power to weight ratio and generous tires the 500 Abarth SS is an ideal base car both for real world track day enthusiasts and sim racers. More relevant however is that Kunos themselves are real world owners of the car, which bodes well for all aspects of Assetto Corsa.
The 500 Abarth SS isn’t just one of the cars included in Assetto Corsa, but is also a laboratory for the development team, owner of a real 500 Abarth SS model that is often used in driving tests on the Vallelunga racing track, the circuit that hosts the Kunos Simulazioni’s headquarters. This allows the development team to improve the physics model and sound and graphics engine, constantly verifying fidelity between the real and the virtual

Kunos have also made available a slick dev timeline, allowing sim racers to follow the development of Assetto Corsa.
This is one sim racing game I’m seriously looking forward to!

After revealing the first official license of KTM X-BOW R, Kunos Simulazioni is pleased to announce the 500
Abarth SS and the Magione racing circuit as official licensed contents for his new racing game “Assetto
Corsa”.
As many players have recognized from the screenshots anticipated last weekend on the Assetto Corsa
Facebook page, we are pleased to reveal two new official licensed contents for our Assetto Corsa PC racing
game: the 500 Abarth SS and the italian racing circuit of Magione.
500 Abarth SS
The car was developed with the spirit of the legendary 500 Abarths of the 1960s, and while it is a small,
agile, compact car on the outside, inside it features the best that engineering, safety and technology can
offer today. With a peak power of over 165bhp and plenty of torque (230Nm) from the 1.4 liters turbo engine,
the light 500 Abarth can accelerate very fast up to its 211km/h top speed. The generous tire dimensions on
17″ wheels and the advanced suspension, give it plenty of grip transforming the car in a fine little toy for the
track day enthusiasts.
The 500 Abarth SS isn’t just one of the cars included in Assetto Corsa, but is also a laboratory for the
development team, owner of a real 500 Abarth SS model that is often used in driving tests on the Vallelunga
racing track, the circuit that hosts the Kunos Simulazioni’s headquarters. This allows the development team
to improve the physics model and sound and graphics engine, constantly verifying fidelity between the real
and the virtual.
Circuito di Magione – Magione racing circuit
The Circuito di Magione is an italian racing track located in the hearth of the Italian region Umbria, about 15
km west of Perugia. This circuit hosted national and some international races: its length of 2,5 km and its
layout make the track easy to learn and an ideal place for practice sessions, track days and sprint races with
cars like the Fiat 500 Abarth SS, which is perfectly at ease among the high curbs and many bumps that
make the track unique in its genre.
