A New Indianapolis 500 Game, Perhaps?

Games business site Gamasutra reports that Eutechnyx and Brain in a Jar are working on a new racing title for 2012. The article states that “Brain in a Jar will provide Eutechnyx with its proprietary motorsports-oriented game engine assets, as a means of creating ‘cutting-edge’ racing simulations on a variety of gaming platforms.”

Eutechnyx is becoming a busy beaver. The company has its massive multiplayer online racer Auto Club Revolution approaching final beta testing, and it is working on NASCAR The Game 2012. It seems a smart move to team up with another company to split the workload so that consumers get a solid product.

Whether this is a sim or realistic racing game has not been disclosed, but my guess is that it could be an Indianapolis 500 title. Brain in a Jar has worked on the Indy 500 IP before, releasing Indianapolis 500: Evolution in September 2009. I suspect this collaborative title won’t release until the later half of 2012, which puts about three years since the last Indy title.

What do you think their project will be?
