MotorStorm RC: Competitive Cross-play Discussed for PS3 and Vita

John Polson February 3, 2012

In the above video Evolution Studios game director Paul Rustchynksy runs through competitive “cross-play” in MotorStorm RC. Players connect online and, within seconds, hop into a track where they can study their race line and their opponents’ lines to improve their time and beat others’time.

One great thing I like about MotorStorm RC and other PlayStation Network games is that the cross-platform functionality. So, if I download a game from PlayStation Store on my PlayStation 3, I can then download it from my purchase history list on my Vita, or visa-versa. The progress is saved on a virtual cloud which can be accessed from either device.

In the recent interview below, Rustchynksy says he’s found working on MotorStorm RC to be a “refreshing change,” and that it’s nice to get back to “old-school, classic addictive gaming.”  I have to agree. I’m ready for some fun racing on-the-go!

Do you have your eye on the PlayStation Vita?
