ARCA Sim Racing X Development Update for 2012 Overhaul

John Polson March 20, 2012

The Sim Factory has posted updates planned for its ARCA Sim Racing X patches. They state that development of the Chevy Silverado Truck is moving quickly toward a final release version. All Oval Tracks are now in the software, and only road courses are left to deal with. The above video shows updates the team is making to the game’s sound.

Sound is just one of many updates coming. The team explained earlier this year that the 2012 X update will be a series of patches involving an overhaul of the physics system as well as an integration of 2012 engineering, race rule standards and vehicle dynamics. ARCA’s original software was based on ISI’s game engine, GMotor2, which was used in rFactor.

For those new to ARCA (Automobile Racing Club of America), it is based out of Toledo, Ohio and is the second oldest stock car racing series in the United States,  running for over 50 years. ARCA Sim Racing has been around for a few years and is available only as a downloadable purchase for PC.
