Executive Producer Dave Thompson celebrated his 10,000th Twitter message by sharing the above demonstration of what could happen if you blow your engine in Eutechnyx’s upcoming NASCAR The Game 2012. Along with the video of the engine ablaze, Thompson shared several NASCAR 2012 sneak peek photos, both on- and off-screen.

Reveals like this are almost everyday affairs on Dave Thompson‘s Twitter feed. He should really be commended for how engaged he is with the Twitter community, since every day he writes dozens of responses, often directly answering very-detailed fans’ questions.

A few of the facts he let loose recently include confirming that 2012 will have the newly configured version of Phoenix International Raceway and that there will be a day and night race for Texas, which traditionally runs into the night. Cameras will incorporate a roof view and a hood view. Players can also upgrade their car to improve performance in NASCAR The Game 2012, too.

However, some of the bigger details haven’t been shared, yet. The racer list and release date haven’t been locked down yet, and a UK release is still up to Eutechnyx’s publisher, Activision.

Every day is a surprise when reading Thompson’s Tweets, and I can only hope more developers become this transparent.
