PlayStation Move Racing Wheel also for Biking, Flight Sims

John Polson July 1, 2012

PlayStation Move Racing Wheel developer Anton Mikhailov recently showed off the device’s various functions, which include turning the wheel into motorcycle and flight sim controller.

Mikhailov states that the Move Racing Wheel captures accurate brake and gas action with back triggers that use potentiometer triggers. Using the Move to help with handling apparently captures double the accuracy compared to the DualShock controller, which should be helpful in taking corners.  They included pedal shifters for manual gameplay, too.

The wheel also has feedback. Each handle has a directional rumble, so you feel when the left or right wheel is going off. The Move in the center also provides feedback. The two “arms” transform the racing wheel into an ideal biking and flight controller, too. Also specially made for bike games, the right arm has a twist throttle that is tied to the rumble.

The Move Racing Wheel supports several PlayStation 3 racing titles such as Gran Turismo 5, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, Burnout Paradise, and MotorStorm Apocalypse. The wheel will be available in the fall for $39.99. The only downsides, the necessary PlayStation Move Motion Controller costs $49.99 retail. The PlayStation Eye, needed to use the Move, will set you back another $30.

Totaled up, it may cost over $100 to use this controller.
