This week on Simraceway’s Test Drive Tuesday: James Hunt’s classic 1977 McLaren Racing M26
After sharing McLaren’s latest technological tour de force last week, this Test Drive Tuesday, we’re heading back in time to offer you an equally-impressive F1 pin-up: the 1977-vintage M26.
The successor to the title-winning M23, the M26 was powered by a 485-bhp Ford Cosworth DFV V8. After carrying reigning World Champion James Hunt to a memorable victory in his home Grand Prix at Silverstone, it helped secure McLaren a creditable third-place in a hard-fought World Constructors’ Championship.
For the next 24 hours you can grab a keyboard, gamepad, or wheel and discover just how it feels to drive this retro-racer in Practice mode or in our COTA Single Event at the equally-evocative Watkins Glen. During this period you’ll also be able to add the M26 to your Garage at a discounted price.
